The Resolution of Old Confflicts, and the Beginning of New Ones

In this sixth book in the series, the mystery of why the high school principal, Mr. Crum, was always vehemently interfering with athletics is finally exposed. At the University, Eddie and the tribe are now core members of the track team.

But, not everyone at the University is happy to see the tribe competing. Someone at the University goes so far as to try to get Eddie and Mark kicked off the track team. Dean Grimsby gets involved, clearly wanting Eddie expelled from the University. The situation comes to an ugly head, creating tension among various members of the administration and the track team.

In an attempt to restore the fractured team, Provost Leighton steps in, working hard to get Eddie back on the track. And, over the Summer, Chuckie and Goldstein return, setting a record in the amount of trouble that they cause.
